Biosketch

Xizeng Mao is an assistant research scientist (supervisor: Prof. Ying Xu) and group leader of systems biology in support of biofuel study in University of Gerogia (UGA). He received his Ph. D. degree in Bioinformatics from Peking University in 2008 (Ph.D. thesis supervised by Prof. Liping Wei) and Bachelor degree in Biology from Lanzhou University in 2003. Between 2005 and 2006, he got two summer internships as a junior software developer in the Exoweb company. His current research interests include (i) computional construction and modeling of biological pathways, particularly for microbial organisms, and (ii) development of intuitive bioinformatics software and web server.
