About Me
I am a Bioinformatics Ph.D. candidate in the University of Georgia. I am currently working in Computational Systems Biology Lab under the guidance of Professor Ying Xu. My doctoral dissertation will be entitled "Genomics and transcriptomics of cellulosic biofuels".
My research interests, in a broad sense, include cellulosic biofuels and cancer informatics. My main research methods are analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing data (whole genome/whole transcriptome) and development of machine learning based classifiers.
I was a research intern at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indian (summer, 2011). I worked with Dr. Dan Li on analyzing the whole genome sequencing data of 200 primary tumors and control tissues. The study will elucidate the molecular mechanism of that cancer.
