Multiple Motifs
Procedure:
Identification of multiple motifs embedded in one promoter sequence set is a real and challenging problem.
We have generated five synthetic sequence sets each containing 60 promoter sequences of length 300,
in which we inserted 305 motifs corresponding to 24 conserved motif groups.
We recorded the numbers of conserved motif groups detected by the top 10 predictions and the numbers of motifs recovered for each of these motif groups by each program.
The following table summarizes the prediction results. From the table, we can see that BOBRO outperforms the other six programs by a substantial margin. (see paper for more details)
