Development and Application of Computational Tools & Web Databases in Bioinformatics: I am interested in development of computational methods, software packages and databases for bioinformatic problems: (bi)-clustering analysis of transcriptomic data, DNA motif discovery and analyses, combinatorial optimization framework for orthology mapping, phylogenetic model for cancer genome evolution, and integrated approaches for microbial genome organization elucidation. I am also interested in implementing these algorithms into interactive web servers and intuitive standalone cross-platform softwares (C/C++).
Computational Study of Plant Cell-wall Synthesis Genes and Co-expression Modules: I am interested in developing computational prediction and analysis tools for inference of genes involved in cell wall synthesis in plants and cis regulatory elements of these genes and their relevant biochemical pathways. Such as bi-clustering analyses of microarray gene expression data, comparative genomic analysis, and co-evolutionary analyses of cell-wall synthesis genes.
Study of Microbial Genome Structure and Elucidation of Metabolic Networks & associated Regulatory Systems: I am interested in understanding the transcription units (micro-structure) and global organizational principles (macro-structure) of microbial genomes through computational studies and experimental validations. I am also interested in applying the knowledge and information gained through such studies to construction of metabolic pathways & network and elucidation of associated regulatory systems in microbes.
