- Question: How
to use the database RepPop?
Answer: Several easy-to-use interfaces have been provided
for the user to access database RepPop.
The user may get basic knowledge of the repetitive elements in the Populus
trichocarpa genome through the Browse
interface. He/she may also directly go for a specific repetitive element using
some key words and specifying the ranges for the lengths and copy numbers
of that element in the Search
interface. The user could also find the repetitive elements that are homologous
to their sequences using the Blast
interface.
- Question: The
majority of the repetitive elements in the database RepPop
do not have any functional annotations. Will the annotations from the research
community be incorporated into the database?
Answer: The database RepPop
is open to the whole research community and annotations of the repetitive
elements are always welcome from the community through Submit
interface or contacting us by the emails in Contact
interface.
- Question: I
don't want to browse all the repetitive elements in the database RepPop.
Could I only browse the repetitive elements with annotation of transposons?
Answer: Sure, the user may browse only the repetitive elements
with annotation of transposons by selecting the Type as Transposons
in the Browse
interface.
